The Islamic University College cut-off point for WASSCE candidates is 36 and that of SSCE is 24. Candidates who score below the cut-off points will not be eligible for admission.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

1       Diploma programmes

Admission requires Core English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Integrated Science, and two electives from SSSCE, WASSCE, Post- Secondary Teachers Certificate, or relevant professional qualification, or special qualifying examination.

2       Bachelor Degree programmes

Firstly, the University shall admit students who have successfully completed their high school education. Additionally, the University shall also admit transfer students from accredited institutions. Moreover, special students who meet the University’s admission requirements may also be considered for admission. Lastly, the University shall admit mature students who are at least 25 years old and have relevant work experience.

Additionally, the candidate must achieve a minimum standard of a D or above in the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) or the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the tested areas. This academic achievement indicates that the applicant possesses the necessary knowledge and skills for success in their chosen course of study or job.

Additionally, Cambridge GCE ‘O’ Level with five (5) credits including English Language and Mathematics, and at least two (2) GCE ‘A’ Level passes are required. Moreover, a pass in General Paper is necessary. Furthermore, One of the ‘A’ Level passes must be at grade D or better.

We encourage mature candidates with a Ghana GCE ‘O’ Level, a post-secondary teaching certificate, or other comparable credentials to apply.

During an interview, we will consider additional credentials, such as professional certifications and diplomas, on a case-by-case basis for placement into Level 200 or 300.

Mature Applicant

Mature applicants with 25+ years, reasonable educational background, 3 years working experience, and academic ability can apply. Must pass University Entrance Examination, interview, and provide relevant documents.

Those with qualifications equivalent to (a), (b), (c) and (d) may be considered for admission as foreign students. They must, however, show evidence of proficiency in English Language.

The Islamic University College admits students transferring from other universities, requiring a minimum of 6 semesters of full-time study before graduation.
